The Atlanta Hawks added another victory to their belt against the Los Angeles Clippers, 102-95, on Wednesday. The Hawks were down 20 points in the first half, but with a spark from our local product, Brandon Goodwin, they managed to solidify the win.

Point guard Brandon Goodwin originally committed to the University of Central Florida from Norcross High School. He then landed at Florida Gulf Coast. After playing for the Grizzlies’ NBA G League and Denver Nuggets, the Atlanta Hawks signed him for a two-way contract on August 6, 2019.

Duane Walker brags about how our very own homegrown Hawk Brandon Goodwin, who shows he is a great addition to the Hawks and provided the energy they needed in the second half. Goodwin finishes the game playing 20 minutes, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 19 points.

On the other end of the court, a local athlete from South Gwinnett High school, Lou Williams, finishes with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists with 35min. Duane speaks highly of Williams' talent being a mentee of Allen Iverson. He also thinks that Williams is “underappreciated and undervalued” by the Clippers.  With Williams being the highest scorer off the bench in the NBA, Duane believes the Clippers “need to pay him what he deserves.”
