Atlanta United had the game in hand but two late goals by FC Dallas that would leave them with a 3-2 loss in Texas on Wednesday night. United defender Michael Parkhurst joined The Morning Show with John and Hugh on Thursday to talk about what went wrong in the last 15 minutes of the match.

“It was just a couple of breakdowns that happened really quick," said Parkhurst. "There’s no way that five minutes left in a game that two passes, 80 yards away from our goal, should result in a breakaway and a goal. It was a real tactical breakdown; we shouldn’t have had one. There was no need for it.”

While Parkhurst said the guys are down right now, they realize it’s a quick turnaround as they’ll travel to Philadelphia for a battle against the Union on Saturday.

“The good news is that we have another game quickly," said the Five Stripes defender. "We don’t want to sit on this [loss] too long because it hurts. Today we’ll think about it, and I’m sure guys will be down. I hope once we get into Philly, the attention will turn to how we get a result on Saturday, and how do we bounce back from this? We deserved to get the three points last night.”

However, Parkhurst expects a little get back after what happened when the Union visited Mercedes-Benz Stadium back in the beginning of June, the resulted in a 3-1 United win.

“With how the game played out last time, with them getting two red cards early in the game, I’m sure they’re going to be up for this game and out there to get revenge," said Parkhurst. "We’re going to have to make sure we match their energy from the first minute.”
