A new proposal came out from the MLB Owners and it was centered around a massive sliding scale for payments, and it especially hits the superstars hard.

Immediately it became clear that the players were not happy and would not be accepting this deal.

Joe Patrick, who covers the Braves for 92.9 The Game, joined John and Hugh and shared his perspective on the latest proposal and if it is a step forward or backwards.

"I don't know if we've seen a negotiation take place under this kind of time crunch," says Joe Patrick. "It's fascinating to see how that affects negotiations."

"There's something to build on here if you can work in some deferred payments. It's so hard to see the players accepting something like this, but if this may be the baseline they can start off with and then receive some more payments down the line then maybe that's something you can work out."
