College Football's Bible (AKA Phil Steele's College Football Preview Magazine) was released this week and Phil Steele joined Jon Chuckery and Hugh Douglas to share some thoughts on the upcoming college football season.

Here are some excerpts from his interview. Click above for his full comments.

  • "When I look at Clemson, they're loaded. Their schedule this year, they will be at least a 17-point favorite in every game they play. Playing in the ACC, as opposed to Alabama who has a couple tough tests, there's more landmines on Alabama's schedule."
  • "Georgia has to feel they can play with these guys (Bama and Clemson). They'll go in knowing they can beat them."
  • "When I look at Michigan, look at the body of work last year, they were clearly one of the best teams in the country. This year their defense will be good, five starters back, offensively they bring in the spread offense. Shea Patterson is the perfect fit for this new offense, and will make Michigan's offense potent. They get all three of their toughest opponents at home."
  • "Utah is my No. 1 surprise team this year, a non-top-10 team I think can make the playoffs this year. Utah's strength is their defensive line, best DL in college football."
  • "I've got Georgia favored in all their games this year, I actually think this year's Georgia team is better than last year's team. Clearly one of the best offensive lines, Fromm, and the defense is more veteran than last year. If they run the table, go 12-0, and lose in the SEC Title Game I do still think they make the College Football Playoff."
