Jake Fromm created a experienced quarterback vacuum at Georgia when he announced he would leave for the NFL Draft last week. Georgia didn't waste time filling that hole as UGA signed graduate transfer quarterback Jamie Newman from Wake Forest.

Newman, a 6'4" 230 lb. dual-threat quarterback from Graham, North Carolina, guided Wake Forest to a 8-5 record in 2019. Newman threw for over 2,800 yards, 26 TDs, and 11 interceptions, while also running for over 500 yards.

Newman will surrounded by what is expected to be the best defense in the SEC once again, talented running backs in Zamir White and James Cook, and upcoming sophomore wide receiver George Pickens.

All the talent is there for UGA to once again be the tops in the SEC especially with Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa leaving for the NFL.

Can Newman be UGA's Tee Martin and get the Bulldogs back in the national championship? Robb Tribble and Harper LeBel say that they think Newman can.
