Robb Tribble and Carl Dukes of Dukes and Bell reflected on the life of Kobe “Bean” Bryant, as we learned Sunday that the NBA legend & his second oldest daughter, Gianna Bryant had lost their lives in a helicopter crash.

Carl covered Kobe for years during his 20-year NBA career and was able to talk to people who were close to Kobe, like Shaquille O’Neal. Carl, while emotional, was able to talk about the man, not the player, Kobe Bryant. He said, while he did not speak to Shaq, he knew that he was hurt because that was his “little brother.”

Robb and Carl were able to talk about the cost of greatness. They talked about how his attention to detail on the court and his will and determination to be great was what made him successful in his career after basketball. Carl and Robb also said how that drive to be great came with sacrifices, friendships, relationships, family and time.

We are all in shock and mourning over the loss of one of the NBA’s finest ambassadors that ever was, Kobe Bryant. He not only was involved in the new young crop of NBA players, like our very own Trae Young, but he was also an advocate of the WNBA and women’s basketball, largely due to his daughter whom we lost as well.

Prayers are to his wife, Vanessa, and his family as they mourn their husband, father, son, and friend. Gone but never forgotten. Kobe Bryant. Mamba Out.
