REPORT: Falcons restructure OG Andy Levitre's contract

March 07, 2018 - 4:08 pm

The Atlanta Falcons continued a process Wednesday of getting their financial accounts in order. According to a report from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the team as restructured the contract of offensive guard Andy Levitre.

The Falcons are yet to anounce the deal.

Terms of the new deal have not been made public, but Atlanta was looking at an $8.375-million salary cap hit, accoridng to Spotrac, if Levitre would have played the 2018 season under his former deal.

Last week the team released tight end Levine Toilolo (June 1 designation) and defensive end Derrick Shelby.

It's also been reported that the Falcons are currently in talks with quarterback Matt Ryan to extaned his current deal. It's likely any restructured deal with Ryan -- just as will likely be the case with Levitre -- will look more cap friendly for 2018.
