REPORT: Budenholzer granted permission to interview with Suns

ESPN senior NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that league sources have told him the Atlanta Hawks have given head coach Mike Budenholzer permission to meet with the Phoenix Suns about their vacancy at head coach.

Budenholzer, 48, was hired by the Hawks on May 28, 2013 and has led Atlanta on four playoff runs in five seasons. He was the NBA Coach of the Year in 2014-15 and has a 213-197 record in 410 games.

Prior to joining the Hawks, Budenholzer was an assistant with the San Antonio Spurs under Gregg Popovich from 1996-2013.
