Categories: NBA insider Ryan Mcdonough joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the NBA trade deadline, and did he like what our Hawks did at the deadline?

Mcdonough talked about why the Hawks have made so many moves at the deadline.

“Travis Schlenk sent a clear signal to the league over the last few weeks that he doesn’t want to wait for the lottery and he doesn’t want to wait until free agency.” Mcdonough said “He’s looking to be aggressive and upgrade the team, obviously the first half of the season didn’t go according to plan starting with the suspension of John Collins, just the lack of competitiveness with the Hawks roster. I thought they would be a borderline playoff team this year and they had one of the worst records thru the first half of the year. Starting with the move to bring in Jeff Teague from Minnesota, and especially this week with the addition of Clint Capela and Dwayne Dedmon. Travis Schlenk is a smart man he looked at the free agency pool in 2020, although the Hawks had a lot of cap space he didn’t like what he saw as far as names available.”
