Seth Emerson, staff writer for the Athletic who covers UGA Football, joined The Midday Show with Rick and John Tuesday to preview the Georgia-Auburn game this weekend and the upcoming SEC Championship game. They talked about the youth of the 2018 Dawgs and Emerson pointed out that the team is so young that they have sophomores that are considered veterans even as they continue to grow and get better.

Regarding the quarterbacks, Emerson mentioned that this is the same offense Jim Chaney has been running all season except for when using Justin Fields and perhaps they suggested Fields might have been better off throwing the ball instead of running it.

Emerson called the Dawgs very diverse and dangerous on offense, but nowhere near Alabama this year. He stressed that UGA wants to grind out the game and wear out the other team, and that the Dawgs are able to do that with their two-headed running back system.

To this weekend's game and Emerson says it will come down to the Dawgs defense to prevent them from having a letdown game against Auburn. Emerson suggests the Dawgs not let Auburn run the ball and focus on containing QB Jarrett Stidham and not letting the Tigers sustain long drives.
