The status for Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan on Sunday is up in the air.

Ryan did not practice on Wednesday as he recovers from a high-ankle sprain he suffered in Week 7's game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Falcons backup quarterback Matt Schaub is prepared to take over the starting role if Ryan is unavailable.

But even if Ryan claims he can go on Sunday, which is a week before the bye, should coach Dan Quinn let him play?

"I hope Matt Ryan's okay, and I hope Matt Ryan gets well as soon as possible. I hope Matt Schaub starts on Sunday," Andy Bunker said.

Randy McMichael disagreed saying if Ryan says he's okay to play, he's going to play.

"You're always trying to win games no matter your record," McMichael added. "It doesn't matter what you think, I think or whatever, they're going to do what's best for Matt Ryan. And if Matt Ryan can go, Matt Ryan's going to play."
