Should we be concerned about the Braves bullpen?

The Atlanta Braves could be without two of their top relievers as the season is set to start as Darren O’Day and A.J. Minter could miss the beginning of the season.

Carl Dukes talked about his concerns for the bullpen.

“Darren O’Day is a guy I was counting on being a top guy for the back end of the bullpen," Dukes said. "I’ve always been concerned with the bullpen going into the spring, and I’m still concerned.”

Mike Bell said he wants the team to go get a starting pitcher because that could help the bullpen.

“We have a bullpen by committee and you don’t have enough bodies right now pitching wise," Bell said. "I really think we need to go get an innings-eater, and they need to do it on the front end with a starting pitcher.”

O'Day posted a 3.60 ERA last season with the Baltimore Orioles and struck out 27 batters in 20 innings. Minter notched 15 saves with a 3.23 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 61 1/3 innings.

While Minter's on the mend, Arodys Vizcaino will likely close out games for the Braves. Upon Minter's return, he could slide into a ninth-inning timeshare with Vizcaino when he becomes fully ready.
