Trae Young was announced as one of the starting guards last night for the NBA All Star Game. He's the first Hawks starter in the All Star Game since Mutombo in 1998.

Instead of being able to celebrate the honor on behalf of Trae, many Hawks fans found themselves having to defend his selection as an All Star starter.

There were plenty of "NBA experts" that didn't agree that Trae Young should have been voted in, so John and Hugh joined in that defense first thing Friday morning

"It's a star-driven league," says Hugh Douglas. "Trae Young is becoming a star, the NBA is fan driven."

While the Hawks record can be used to attack Trae, his stats are undeniable.

Trae Young is 3rd in the league in points, 4th in assists, and top ten in 3-pointers and free throws made.

At the end of the day, as much as Hawks fans love Trae Young, he was voted in by the national audience and they made it very clear that they enjoy watching him and that he belongs as a starter.
