Wes Durham joined Dukes & Bell Wednesday and talked about the Georgia Tech hiring of new head coach Geoff Collins.

“It’s the best possible situation for Georgia Tech," said Durham. "You have someone who has experience working there, which I think is a big deal. He’s a great recruiter and he’s a Power-5 coach. He’s a guy being from Conyers who wants to be there, so I’ll be interested to see how many people from Temple and a few other places come with him.”

Durham talked about what schemes Collins will implement at Tech.

“What he’s getting out is he’s talked about using pro stuff from an offensive and defensive schemes," said Durham. "And what Kansas City uses isn’t what Green Bay runs, so he’s going to use what best fits his personnel.”

When asked about the news out of Charlotte that Cam Newton won't play on Sunday against the Falcons...

“Taylor Heinickei who played at Collins Hill here in Georgia, he can sling it now," said Durham. "Make no mistake he can flood the field with it, and I thought they played pretty well defensively on Monday night. I think it will be interesting to see what they do, especially with the way they used McCaffrey in the first game with all of the short passes as another extension of the run game.”
