The guys hit the Dawg Report as UGA Beat writer Seth Emerson joined Dukes & Bell to talk about players coming back for voluntary workouts, is AD Greg McGarity close to retirement, and has the pandemic put Jamie Newman behind in learning UGA offense?

Emerson talked about how Kirby Smart handled the pandemic.

“I think that what Georgia has going for it in this, it’s definitely a year where it hurts them to have this happen when they have a new OC and Quarterback, but what they have going for them is everyone is going through this.” Emerson said “The other thing is I think you have to have a lot of confidence in Kirby Smart and the organization as he calls it but the support structure around them. He was able to look at this as soon as it hit, and watching it as things transpired saying alright look here’s the situation we’re going to have to do this, we’re going to have to meet this many times, this is how we’re going to have to adjust our plan. It’s gonna be decided on how you react, during the last three months whoever reacted best is going to be better off. You can criticize Kirby Smart for maybe calling a fake punt at the wrong time, or whatever you want but he may act like the smartest guy in the room sometimes but that’s because a lot of times he is, and I bet he reacted well to this.”
