Was releasing kicker Matt Bryant really a good move in the long run for the Atlanta Falcons?

Randy McMichael, who was filling in for John Michaels on Friday, called the move to decline the veteran kicker's option a smart business decision. It makes sense to save money and go with a younger player in Giorgio Tavecchio.

The Falcons picked up Tavecchio after Bryant suffered a hamstring injury back in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Rick Kamla questioned if Randy could trust the younger kicker. McMichael's response? "You better."

The release of Bryant wasn't the only move the team has made this offseason. The Falcons also released CB Robert Alford, DE Brooks Reid and, just this morning, CB Brian Poole.

Although, the organization has the option to bring Poole back after he hits free agency on March 13.
