Up to eighteen (18) Games will be played simultaneously.  Each round will be completed once all Contestants in that round have completed their Games.  Up to 128 Contestants can participate in the Paper Football tournament.  Contestants will be split into two (2) brackets of sixty-four (64) Contestants.  The final winner from each bracket will face off in the final round where the winner of that matchup will be deemed the “First Place Prize Winner”, and the loser will be deemed the “Second Place Prize Winner”.  The person who lost the final Game in each of the two (2) brackets will face off against each other for the 3rd place and 4th place prizes.  The winner of that game will be deemed the “Third Place Prize Winner” and the loser will be deemed the “Fourth Place Prize Winner”.   If fewer than one-hundred twenty-eight (128) Contestants register on-site by the registration deadline, the Station reserves the right to modify the number of brackets or number of people per bracket as necessary to conduct Contest, or only allow the first sixty-four (64) people who registered to compete for the prizes.  The Contestants must check in upon arrival at the entry check in and receive a number and a time to participate in the first round of the bracket contest in the paper football Contest.  Contestants will participate in random pairings to compete.  Contestants must be present for each round at the time given to the Contestants or their round will be forfeited.  Contestants will be notified on or before January 26, 2019 upon arrival of the exact time they will compete in the first round.  After the first round is completed the Contestants will then begin competing in the second round, third round and so on continuing until there is one (1) “First Place Prize Winner”, one (1) “Second Place Prize Winner”, one (1) “Third Place Prize Winner”, and one (1) “Fourth Place Prize Winner”.  The bracket Contest is single elimination.

The Paper Football Rules:  each “Game” is ten (10) minutes long and have no timeouts.  The following rules will govern all Games in this Contest.  The referee will hold a coin toss to determine who gets the ball first. The Contestant who loses the coin toss will kick off. One Contestant will call “heads” or “tails.”  Losing Contestant of coin toss kicks off to receiving Contestant. Receiving Contestant starts with the ball. A kickoff is when the Contestant “flicks” the football off the edge of their side of table toward the opposing Contestant. A “flick” means that the Contestant uses their index or middle finger to hit the football off the edge of the table, through the air and down the field toward opposing Contestant.  Out of bounds kickoff result in automatic own 20 yard line placement. If the kick goes over the table it is called a “touchback.” The ball is placed at the 20 yard line of the receiving Contestant. Otherwise the receiving Contestant takes possession where the football lands on the table. Any kickoff that lands out of bounds or before the 50 yard line will result in a first down on the 50 yard line for the opponent.  Each Contestant gets 4 downs (chances) to score. Contestants can kick a field goal on 4th down or go for the touchdown. Contestant with the ball takes their 4 turns sliding the football across the table top using their fingers in either a “flicking motion” with the index/middle finger or with a single “bump” with two fingers, once per turn.  An extended pushing of the ball is against the rules. If this occurs the football is placed back to its original location on the field and the offending Contestant loses a down (chance).  If the Contestant goes for the touchdown on 4th down and fails to make the touchdown then the opposing Contestant takes over the ball where the possession ended on 4th down.  Each movement of the ball counts as a down (chance).  Touchdowns are worth 6 points, Field goals 3 points, Extra points 1 point, Field Goals are to be kicked from your own 20-yard line.  If the field goal is missed, opposing Contestant starts at their own 20 yard line.  Extra Points are to be kicked from the opponent’s 20 yard line.  Questionable touchdowns are determined by straight flat rulers moving across edge of table. For Contestants in a winning position who “time waste” in order to slow Game play, will be warned by the official, if Contestant continues to time waste, there will be a “turnover” and the opponent will immediately receive the football. If the Game goes into a tie at the end of regulation, there will be a 2-minute overtime, sudden death style and the Contestant who scores first will win. No field goal kicks are allowed.

Winners must be present at the Event in order to win but do not need to listen to the Station to win.

Winners will be notified at the conclusion of the Event on January 26, 2019.  Prize(s) will be awarded only upon confirmation of eligibility and completion of all requisite releases.  The winner(s) must execute and return any required affidavit of eligibility and/or liability/publicity release within ten (10) minutes of winning or prize(s) will be forfeited and an alternate winner will not be selected.

ANY CONTESTANT USING VIOLENCE, INTIMIDATION OR OTHER INAPPROPRIATE ACTION IN AN ATTEMPT TO WIN A GAME (AS DETERMINED IN THE SOLE DISCRETION OF STATION PERSONNEL) WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFIED AND BARRED FROM FURTHER PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST.

ALL CONTESTANTS HEREBY AGREE TO STRICTLY FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND DIRECTIONS GIVEN BY STATION PERSONNEL AT THE EVENT AND UNDERSTAND THAT ANY INTENTIONAL FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE CONTEST RULES OR PROCEDURES OR INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN BY STATION STAFF WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION.  IN NO EVENT WILL ANY “DEAL-MAKING” BETWEEN CONTESTANTS AND FINALISTS BE PERMITTED.  STATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY ANY PERSON THAT IT SUSPECTS HAS PARTICIPATED IN OR OFFERED OR ACCEPTED ANY TYPE OF “DEAL-MAKING” WITH RESPECT TO THIS CONTEST.

ALL DECISIONS BY STATION STAFF WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL MATTERS IN THIS CONTEST, AND ANY GAME COMPRISING THIS CONTEST, ARE FINAL AND MAY NOT BE APPEALED.

Odds of becoming a Contestant in this Contest depend upon the number of entries received.  Odds of a Contestant winning a prize in this Contest shall not exceed 4:128.
