TMS: Mike Conti: Josef Martinez's Four Hat-Tricks Testament To Entire Team

Atlanta United radio play-by-play announcer Mike Conti joined John and Hugh to talk about the team’s big 4-1 win over the Whitecaps on Saturday. Mike says “it looks like two different teams” from the one that played against Houston Dynamo than the one over the past two weeks. They co-lead the league in goals scored and that’s without Ezequiel Barco. With Josef Martinez having four hat-tricks in only 23 games is “almost unbelievable.” It’s a testament not only to Martinez but to his teammates putting the ball in the right spots. The statistical evidence is there that this team is playing the offensive-attack style of play Tata Martino wants them to play. Looking ahead, Mike says their game against Minnesota United on March 31st is going to be the barometer on where this team is up to this point. Not only is it a night game, it’s outdoors, and weather will be a factor. Atlanta United is much better at home where the can ride that wave of sound from the fans. It’s much tougher to get a point or draw on the road.
